Ontario Family Practice runs an appointment system; however we do keep openings for emergencies on a daily basis with special emphasis to treat children presenting with urgent medical needs being a top priority.

If you have an urgent medical problem, please advise our reception about the type of problem being experienced. This will enable us to give optimal assistance.

The prompt assessment and treatment of an unwell child is a priority for the practice

Appointment Types:

When booking, please use the following guides to ask for an appropriate length consultation to suit your needs :

Standard Consultation ( up to 15 minutes):


Long Consultation (15 to 30 minutes):Ideal for multiple health problems, counselling and mental health related issues, care plans and Allied Health Service referrals, Health assessments, Men’s and Women’s Health Checks.


Extended Consultation (over 30 minutes):

Insurance medicals or pre-employment checks that cannot be done within 30 minutes.

If you feel a prolonged consultation may be required, please make our reception staff aware of it as long appointments are available upon request. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and doctor.

We understand that your time is valuable, and every effort is made to keep to appointment times; however patient medical needs can be quite unpredictable. We appreciate your understanding should you experience an extended waiting period. We can reschedule your appointment if this is preferable to waiting in such instances.

After Hour Appointments:

If you require medical attention out of the practices hours there will always be an “on call” doctor available. Our practice offers 24 hour a day medical cover for all of its patients, everyday of the year.

For all after hour medical attention, telephone 5021 1688 and answering service will direct you to the “on call” doctor.

Saturday morning clinics only operate on alternative weekends at our surgery, on the alternative Saturday it will be conducted at Lime Medical Clinic.

Home / Other Visits:

Doctors at our practice will conduct home visits and nursing home visits for patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. These arrangements are made through our practice manager and through the doctor.

Telephone Calls:

Doctors in the practice may be contacted during normal surgery hours. If you have an emergency your call will be triaged by one of our practice nurses then put through to your doctor if needed. Our nurse is available for any queries you think she may be able to help with.

In some situations doctors may speak to you between their consultations if you are happy to hold until they have finished consulting.

Reminder System:

Our practice is committed to preventative care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please inform our reception staff to have yourself removed.

SMS Confirmation:

Please note that you may receive an SMS notification from our reception to confirm your appointment time and to ensure that there are no missed appointments. Please let reception staff know if you would like to opt out of SMS reminder.

Cancellation Policy:

If you are unable to attend for a scheduled appointment, please contact us to cancel or change your appointment time. A non attendance fee will be charged for failure to attend or cancellation at short notice. (Please note: this fee is not Medicare rebatable).
